Dance Samplers

These classes are designed to enhance the student’s creative ability, coordination and musicality and to introduce them to a variety of dance forms. Preschool and Kindergarten Samplers are 1 hour weekly and combine Pre-Ballet, Tap and Tumbling. Intermediate Samplers offer the six through eight year old student Ballet, Tap and Introductory Jazz. These classes are 1 to 1 1/2 hours weekly.

 

Ballet

Our complete graded system of classical ballet includes all the elements of barre, centre, adagio, and allegro during each class. Classes are weekly and range from 3/4 hour to 1 hour depending on the level of the class. Advanced students are encouraged to take at least 2 classes per week.

              - Pointe Classes are devoted to the technique of dancing on toe (sur les pointes). Pointe class may only be taken at the recommendation of       

                 the teacher.

Jazz

Classes are offered to students 6 years of age through adult. Various styles of Jazz are taught to “today’s” pop, rock, blues, and lyrical music. Classes range from 3/4 hour to 1 hour.

 

Modern/Contemporary

Combining elements of Jazz, Modern Dance and Ballet, Modern/Contemporary classes are offered to students 10 years of age through adult. All classes are 1/2 to 3/4 hour long.

 

Hip Hop

The latest in popular dance forms including Rap Dance and Hip Hop. For Girls, Boys, Teens, and Adults. All classes are 3/4 hour long.

 

Tap

Classes are offered utilizing a graded system. The classes emphasize technique, clarity of sound, rhythm, speed, and training in basic combinations and routines. All classes are 1/2  hour long.

 

Class Placement

Students are placed at the appropriate levels in each subject based on age, previous dance training and demonstrated skill and commitment. After classes begin, changes may be suggested by the teacher to assure that each student receives the best possible learning experience.
